ENOUGH WITH THE FUNDRAISING!!

HELP! If one more person asks me to donate money for a cause or a fundraiser, I'm going to have to declare bankruptcy! I kid you not. Here's a list of things I've been approached about just in the last week. First there are pre-school and daycare fundraisers for 2 people's kids at work for chocolates and Tupperware right now, not to mention the chocolates and hoagie sandwiches I have already purchased this year for school fundraising. I got a call this morning from a co-worker wanting to be "bailed out of jail" to benefit the MDA. I just received a Bone mail from a co-worker about a benefit for another disease/hospital. Even while I was in the Boneyard bathroom, there's a poster of Christina Appelgate staring at me to participate in Lee Jeans Denim Day for Breast Cancer research. Yesterday I got something in the mail from the National Museum of Women in the Arts in DC asking me to become a member- with a donation of course! Now of course these are all great, wonderful causes worthy of money much needed to fund research and find cures- don't get me wrong, but I simply can't afford it anymore! If I add all of these requests for $5-$10-$20 together, it really adds up! Not to mention the frequent emails I get from former co-workers and cousin's stay- at- home significant others selling Southern Living at Home or Tastefully Simple stuff I'm never going to use since I can't even cook!! If they expect me to finance their lifestyle decision, then I should send around a fundraising catalog for me with things in there like: help with funding vehicle inspections, car repairs, insurance, clogged sinks, EZ pass transponders, gas money, and other assorted bills associated with life! Where is the average working American's fundraising effort? We are asked to give more and more while banks and credit agencies are putting more and more limits and restrictions on consumers? I don't have any answers, but I know donating money I don't have isn't going to help. Thanks for reading my blog. Luckily for now, speech is still free!

NEW MUSIC TUESDAY!

There are so many new releases this Tuesday that I can't, " keep em separated," as The Offspring sang in the 90's...First we have the first all-new album from Alice in Chains in 14 years, called Black Gives Way to Blue. Playboy magazine calls it "their Back in Black," which is pretty accurate considering this album is their first with replacement singer William DuVall taking over for the late Layne Staley. Speaking of AC/DC, they have announced a limited edition box set today. The "deluxe package" is housed inside a fully operational AC/DC amplifier! Wilkes Barre homeboys, (that's why they get a blog photo), Breaking Benjamin return today with their 4th album Dear Agony featuring the amazing song "I Will Not Bow!" AFI returns today with Crash Love. I love that title:) Buckcherry issues a concert package called Live & Loud just days after kicking off their tour with Kiss. Have I missed anyone? Yes, Paramore's Brand New Eyes! Now go out there and support the artist of your choice to keep music alive!!! Thanks! CRASH

SULLY ERNA IS ENGAGED!

Wicked hardcore- Sully Erna from Godsmack is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Cabezon. In Sully's own words: " After eight years of being together and living through the ups and downs of life, we have finally reached a place where we've decided to spend our lives together as husband and wife." He added, "I can't say our road has always been the easiest of roads in a relationship, but then again, what in life ever comes easy? We've separated numerous times and tried to move on in our lives, yet we always seem to find a way back to each other again. Which says to us that it's time to take our commitment to the next level." Good for them. That's a true love story. I just hope Godsmack continues to rock after Sully settles down. Here's a photo of the happy couple.

EDDIE VH ON TWO AND A HALF MEN!

Here's a sneak preview of Eddie Van Halen's upcoming cameo on the show "Two and a Half Men." Eddie will play himself in an episode when the series returns to CBS September 21st. Check your local listings. I don't usually watch that show, but maybe I will now! Other bad TV I've been watching this season includes "The Rachel Zoe Project" on Bravo and 90210 on the CW. JOE PERRY WILL WORK FOR FOOD!

I know everybody is talking about that egomaniac Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift last night on the VMA's, but I couldn't get past Joe Perry & Katy Perry! The legendary Aerosmith guitarist played for the pop tart on "We Will Rock You" to introduce the "not as funny as last year" host Russell Brand. Looks like Joe needs the work after Steven Tyler fell off the stage and cancelled their recent tour. And needless to say there is no relation between the 2 Perry's.

BRILLIANT LOVES LA GRANGE!

Scotty Brilliant will be hanging out in the Boneyard for me next week while I head to Corolla, NC in OBX for a little sun. Gotta keep up with Brilliant's Avalon glow! Be sure to thank him for working so hard on Labor Day week when you hit him up on the Bone Phone! And since Scotty LOVES "La Grange" from ZZ Top, here's a shot of a La Grange winery glass on my balcony on a lovely Summer day! Happy Labor Day to all who labor every day and listen to the Bone!!!

KURT SINGS BON JOVI WTF????!!!!

More on the Kurt Cobain playable character in the new Guitar Hero 5 game. You can make Kurt's avatar play and sing Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name." Sweet Lord, no offense to Bon Jovi's swarm of fans, but I'm pretty sure Kurt is rolling over in his grave about this. Didn't Courtney Love know her husband at all? Even I know that Kurt championed groundbreaking alternative rock bands like Sonic Youth, The Pixies, and early R.E.M. Bon Jovi was never on that list. You didn't see the band covering "Bad Medicine" during their MTV Unplugged session! As a Nirvana and Kurt Cobain fan since I can remember, I feel like I had to say something.
