RE-DISCOVER NACHO CHEESE DORITOS

I haven't written a food blog in awhile, so here goes. They are always a crowd pleaser. The "honor system" vending box here at the Bone must have be re-filled recently, cuz I noticed an old friend in there today: the original, red bag, Nacho Cheese Doritos-the 1 oz mini bag that is, since I am still trying to eat healthy these days. Wow! I haven't had these in some time. Do yourself a favor too, and re-discover this old friend soon. Only 150 calories per bag. And I'm not talking about those awful, Baked Doritos. Oh no. These are the real deal. And I have the orange fingers to prove it. YUM! Bone Appetit! CRASH

MUSIC VIDEO FOR LOCAL VETERANS

I wanted to share a Bone Mail and video I received from my friend Eric Kowal of Semper Fi Marketing:

Gina,

Hey how's it going? I was part of a phenomenal music video put together by Kenton Nix, of Plum Entertainment. The video is for the song "Home," by Steve McDaniel who is a local musician. Steve was not a military veteran himself, but wanted to do something special for the troops, so in the video, 32 veterans of all eras and within the Pocono region dating all the way back to World War II, mouth the words to Steve's song. We would like everyone to see this video and hear this song. It is a great tribute to our service members past and present. The song can also be downloaded on Amazon and a portion of the proceeds will go to the 501 (c) 3 charity, Marines Helping Marines, which benefits our wounded warriors. The video can be seen at http://www.veteransmusicvideo.com/

Can you tell your audience about the site?

Thank you,

Eric

THANK YOU, Eric! And everybody- please take a moment to view this moving video and download the song if you can to benefit this very worthy cause. I can't think of a better cause. I am always willing to help out our veterans in any way I can.

Sincerely,

GINA CRASH

ROYALLY PICTURE PERFECT

Since we have no royalty of our own in this country with the exception of the Kennedy dynasty, I am obsessed with the royals of Britain. You've got to admit, William & Kate make a lovely couple. 8 years was worth the wait for "waity Katie" as the tabloid press calls her. This is one of their recent engagement photos.

*This just in on 1/7/11, Elizabeth Edwards left everything to her children in her will. John Edwards, her husband who had an affair and a child with his mistress, was left nothing!

ANOTHER ROYAL WEDDING IN THE WORKS

Every time I turn on the TV, I see Prince William & his new fiancee, Kate Middleton. I'm already sick of the press coverage, and they just got engaged a few days ago. I guess I am just adding to the heap of publicity. William gave Kate her late mother Diana's engagement ring. It's an oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds- pictured here with the late Princess and a much younger William & Harry. Congrats to the happy royal couple. I wish them some privacy.

BILL CLINTON CAMEO IN THE HANGOVER 2

If you're like me and you miss Bill Clinton and you love the movie The Hangover, then you're gonna love this. According to "reliable" sources like TMZ & People Magazine, Mel Gibson- as we know, is out, and now former President Bill Clinton is in! Clinton shot a cameo Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand where the sequel is currently filming. The former President will play himself in the movie. Conveniently he was in Bangkok over the weekend speaking about clean energy. TMZ reported that security was added to the set to accommodate Clinton.

CONAN IS BACK TONIGHT ON TBS!

I admit it. I kind of missed Conan O'Brien. He did get royally screwed by NBC. Let's say I'm on Team Coco. Anyhoo he's back on TBS tonight at 11pm. Jack White is the musical guest tonight, and tomorrow you can check out the recently reunited Soundgarden! SWEET!

TALK ABOUT A POWER TRIO!

Dave Grohl recently posted this picture on Twitter featuring himself, Nirvana Nevermind producer Butch Vig, and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic all in the studio together. Butch is producing the new Foo Fighters album, so you know it's gonna rock. Krist makes a guest appearance on bass. According to Dave, it's their "heaviest yet." He said, "There's not one acoustic guitar, there's not even one in the house." NICE!

LOOK FOR CHESTER BENNINGTON IN SAW 3D

Linkin Park front man Chester Bennington is such a fan of the Saw franchise that he has been known to take breaks in the middle of their tours to catch the latest installment on the big screen! Now his enthusiasm for the horror flicks has paid off. He has a small role in the new Saw movie Saw 3D which opens this Friday just in time for Halloween weekend. He couldn't say much about his role, but he did say it's so gory it almost made his wife vomit!

LOCAL SOLDIER RUNS MARATHON FOR OPERATION TOUCH OF HOME

I've been silenced by laryngitis for the last 3 days, but I still have my voice to blog about an amazing local soldier and charity. Back in August, I had the pleasure of participating in a benefit for Operation Touch of Home, at the Original Pocono Pub, (the OPP). It was there I met Dean Green, the founder of the local organization in Brodheadsville that sends care packages to the local men & women in uniform who are serving overseas in Iraq & Afghanistan. That day I also met Bill Wary, a local Army soldier from East Stroudsburg who has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and has been the grateful recipient of many of these care packages assembled by the volunteers at Operation Touch of Home. As much as Bill Wary has given to us, he wanted to give back to Operation Touch of Home for all they have done for him. Bill recently ran the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton to raise money for Operation Touch of Home. Bill, (pictured here in my blog), finished the marathon in 4:26:02 and raised over $1,500 for Operation Touch of Home! Although the race has been run and won, Bill wanted me to let everybody know that donations can still be made out to Operation Touch of Home at PO Box 162, Brodheadsville, PA 18322 and he asks that the Steamtown Marathon be mentioned so that he can get credit for his final, final total. You can find out more info about the great work of Operation Touch of Home at http://www.operationtouchofhome.net/ Way to go, Bill!

KID ROCK GIVES BACK!

My Dad always taught me to tell someone when they do a good job. After all, no one hears their own eulogy. So I want to give props to Kid Rock and tell him he's done a good job. A longtime supporter of our troops, Kid has done it again! This time he has teamed up with his native Detroit Lions to donate 500 tickets to the National Guard & the Paralyzed Veterans Association for this Sunday's Lions/Rams game. You can hear Kid's new song "Born Free" on the Bone. The album Born Free will be released on November 16th.

"ROCKIN THE JENNIFER ANNISTON LOOK?"

This morning I made my usual trip to the Dunkin Donuts drive-thru in Qtown for my iced blueberry coffee with cream & one Splenda. When I went up to the window to pay, the clerk said to me, "You're rockin the Jennifer Anniston look today." I was flattered to say the least. My hair was still wet & a mess pulled back in a clip, and I didn't have any make-up on, just my trusty Ray Bans. But I'll take it! I'm sure Jennifer has a team of stylists to straighten her hair and pick her clothes.

ANOTHER KOL BROTHER IS OFF THE MARKET!

Just a few months after Nathan Followhill tied the knot, Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followhill is officially off the market too. He popped the question to his girlfriend of 2 years, Lily Aldridge. You may recognize her since she appeared in the video for their song "Use Somebody." KOL releases their new album, Come Around Sundown, on October 19th. The album features the amazing new song, "Radioactive" that you can hear on the Bone!

EDDIE VEDDER TIES THE KNOT!

I have to go to a wedding this weekend, so I guess I have weddings on the brain, but congrats to Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder who tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend/model Jill McCormick this weekend in Hawaii. Judging from Eddie's slightly frizzy hair, I'd say it was a tad humid in Hawaii or he had no access to anti-frizz products on the island. Among the 70 guests were Sean Penn and Jack Johnson,( in flip flops no doubt). Congrats to the happy couple!

WEILAND IS NOT DEAD BUT HE IS FOR SALE!

Scott Weiland has chosen a title for his long awaited autobiography due out in March 2011. Drum roll please, he has selected "Not Dead & Not For Sale." STP fans will recognize that as a lyric from their song "Trippin' on A Hole in a Paper Heart." Weiland's ex-wife Mary beat him to the punch and released her book last year.

CHRIS ROBINSON THINKS TAYLOR SWIFT IS "HORRIBLE"

Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson has gone after Taylor Swift in a recent interview with Nylon Guys magazine. Taylor does look alot like Chris' ex-wife Kate Hudson.... Robinson said, "I find it embarrassing that adults are like, 'Taylor Swift is very talented.' She's not. She might be cute, but she's horrible." Ouch! I know she's a PA gal, but I have to agree with Chris on this one. If you saw her "Rhiannon" duet with Stevie Nicks at the Grammy's this year, then you know how off-key she can be!

TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN DIMEBAG'S 44th BIRTHDAY!

Today would have been late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott's 44h birthday. Sadly Dimebag was taken from us too soon when he was murdered onstage in 2004 at just 38 years old. R.I.P Brother, and we played "Cowboys from Hell" in tribute during the Noon Request Riot today.

MR. JOHN GRAFFITI @ MUSIKFEST!

Scotty & I took a bathroom break at Musikfest yesterday before the Sublime w/Rome show, and some graffiti I spotted in the Mr. John cracked me up. In the spot where there's a place for Mr. John employees to enter the "serviced by" date and technician initials it just said, "Serviced by, your Mom." I know I have the sense of humor of a 12 year-old, but you've got to admit that's pretty funny! Or just the fact that I was trying to take pictures of it with my camera phone inside of the Mr. John to blog about it later!

I TURNED DOWN A CUPCAKE!

My co-worker Bob was taunting people in the office today with leftover cupcakes in a Tupperware container. I'm happy to say I resisted the urge and passed on the tempting treat. Besides, I'm getting sick of all the cupcake hype. There's even a show on the Food Network called Cupcake Wars. There's a super trendy place in Georgetown that only sells cupcakes, and the line is around the corner apparently, according to my friends in DC. And there was a scene in the Sex & the City 2 trailer where Charlotte is making cupcakes in a cupcake apron. You see what I mean? It's getting out of control.
THIS JUST IN: Bob my co-worker just came BACK in the Boneyard with another cupcake for Scotty! I screamed, "BOBBBB! Go put that cupcake on Scotty's desk! I can't have it in here sitting next to me in the studio, or I'm gonna have to eat it!" GEESH!

WHY ARE CAR REPAIR$ SO EXPEN$IVE?

A few days ago the A123 service code wrench popped up on my Honda. (This is not my car in the photo) It was supposed to be a simple oil & filter change & tire rotation. The "simple service" still ended up costing me over $200! And that was with 2 coupons!! I needed a new Hepi & Air filter again after replacing them both only 9,000 miles ago. I understand why some people try to change their own oil in the driveway! GEESH! Part of the reason must be because I am a chick and I would probably believe them if they told me I needed a new steering wheel, but come on people, you're killing me and my wallet!

COME SEE CRASH ON A BICYCLE!!!

Crash here! I posted some photos of me on a bicycle just to prove to Scotty that I actually know how to ride one! I'm on Philly's Ben Franklin Parkway in one of them and in front of the Falls Bridge in the other. Why am I posting pictures of myself on a bike, you ask? Because I want you to come hang out with me this Friday afternoon from 4-6pm @ the Grand Opening of Performance Bicycle, "the Nation's #1 bicycle retailer," in Allentown in the Airport Plaza shopping center near the new Target & Sam's Club right off 22. Why not stop by on your way home from work? I'll be checking in live with Scotty Brilliant during Work Release Friday too, so look out Brilliant! I'll see you guys there. Check out the Bone on the Street page for more info! Thanks! CRASH

TRUCK DRIVERS HONKING AT CRASH?

Yesterday I was talking on my cell phone to Scotty Brilliant while driving East on 22, when I heard a truck driver honking at me as he drove by. This has happened to me a few times lately, so I asked Brilliant, "Dude is that cuz I have a flat tire or a headlight out or something?" "No Crash, I think they are honking cuz you're hot!" Well then, I guess I've still got it! Always nice to hear. That's cool. Here's to truck drivers everywhere! Especially those who listen to the Bone while driving!!

I MADE A $10 PROFIT @ SALADWORK$ !!

In my ongoing search for healthy dinner options, I decided to stop off at a local Saladworks the other day to try their Fire Roasted Cabo Chicken salad. It was pretty good even with lowfat ranch dressing. I realize that annoying, "Eat This Not That" guy would probably tell me I might has well have eaten 3 Big Macs, but whatever. Forget him for a moment, here's the best part: The salad came to a total of $8.26. I'm pretty sure I gave them only a $10 bill, cuz I only had about $13 to my name that day and I'm pretty sure no $20 bills were lurking in my wallet. The cashier gave me back $11.74 in change instead of $1.74. She had typed in that I gave her $20 in cash instead of $10 in cash. I hope she didn't notice the look on my face that said, "JACKPOT! I am rich!" Literally, I could live off $13 for a few days. I know it's bad I didn't say anything because her drawer probably came up short by $10 that night, but the extra cash came in handy. No judgement please, but seriously, what would YOU have done in that situation, seriously?

SMILE: YOU'RE AT THE DMV PHOTO CENTER!

This Monday I had to go to the dreaded DMV to renew my expiring driver's license. I was obsessing about wanting to having the perfect hair, makeup and suntan day. Scotty said his fiancee was doing the exact same thing recently when she had to renew her license. She even cancelled a DMV trip cuz she didn't think her hair looked good that day. This got me thinking that this is one of the many ways that men and woman are different creatures. Dudes don't care what their hair looks like in a DMV photo. I ended up making it to the Snydersville DMV before they closed at 4:15 and taking a pretty decent photo after 3 tries. (You are allowed 4 attempts). I showed it to our receptionist Tina and she said, "Crash, You look just like a cover girl!" Wow that's the highest compliment. I guess I didn't have anything to worry about after all! SMILE:)

AL GORE GOSSIP!

I knew there was more to this Al Gore & Tipper Gore story! You don't just break up out of nowhere after 40 years of marriage! Check out the cover of the National Enquirer! Now you don't have to feel guilty for reading it in the checkout line cuz it's right here for you on my blog. Is it just me or is Al starting to look like an alien? Now that would be a perfect headline for a tabloid!

FELL OFF THE WAGON WITH PANCAKE BITES!

I've been so good lately trying not to eat junk from the drive-thru. I held strong for almost a month, until this morning.....I stopped off @ the new drive-thru Dunkin Donuts in Qtown innocently enough for an iced blueberry coffee with cream & one Splenda and a toasted, buttered English muffin. That is, until I saw the new Maple Pancake Sausage Bites staring down at me from the menu board. Damn it! "Are those really good?" I asked the attendant, as if she was going to tell me, no! "Oh yes, they are delicious. You should try a 3 pack. They come in 3 and 6 count," she informed me. So I caved. The first one was delicious. Hot, sweet and satisfying. By the second bite, I was beginning to regret my decision to veer off my healthy course. The second bite, although still good, reminded me it was still just a fatty sausage patty disguised in a bite size pancake that looks like a corn dog tater tot. I tossed out the last one @ the Allentown rest stop and felt full and greasy for most of the morning. It wasn't worth it. As the old saying goes, nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

SCOTTY'S GOT A BRAND NEW HAT!

Yesterday our own Scotty Brilliant hit up the Calvin Klein store at the Premium Outlets in Tannersville for this new trucker hat. The only thing we aren't sure about is the little change purse pocket on the side of his head. By the way that is my finger in the photo, not Scotty's in case you were wondering why he has girly hands:) Let us know what you think. Make a comment on the blog. I think it's a keeper if you can get past the change purse pocket. Thanks for your input! Gina & Scotty.

AL & TIPPER GORE NO MORE!!?!!??

I can't believe it! I just read that Al & Tipper Gore are separating after 40 years of marriage! GEESH what hope is there for the rest of us? These two baby boomers were always showing public displays of affection and dancing poorly in public to Fleetwood Mac songs. I did not see this one coming. The only thing I can think of is that he enjoyed hugging trees more than Tipper. I know it's the worst joke ever, but I couldn't help it. I am in shock!
