Guitar Hero 5 comes out this Tuesday, September 1st, and Activision just revealed a MAJOR secret about the game: Kurt Cobain will be featured as a playable character. Here's a look at his avatar. Hello, hello, hello, how low?

60 IN A 35!!

Pop Evil sing "100 in a 55." Sammy Hagar sang "I Can't Drive 55." Neither can say they were going 60 in a 35, but I can. Last week I was late for an appointment and got nailed in a speed trap going 60 in a 35. I didn't even know my sensible 4- cylinder 4-door sedan could go that fast! Like I told the officer, I really had no idea I was going that fast and I know I should slow down because there are children and pedestrians in the area to think about as well as other drivers. My honesty didn't keep me from owing this particular Magisterial District # in PA that shall remain nameless $169.50 plus $7 in court costs to help balance their unbalanced budgets. Ouch that hurts! Who has that kind of money just lying around? And since it's 25 miles over the speed limit, it comes with a whopping 4 points! That's why I pled not guilty, paid the fine, and hope to negotiate the points when I appear in court at a later date. So I'm letting anyone know who is expecting me to be at an appointment at a particular time- that means you doctors, hairstylists, car repair service departments, etc., that chances are I am running late and there will almost always be traffic, roadwork, lane closures and weather to deal with. And in the interest of avoiding another ticket and possibly jeopardizing my driving record, I may be a little late. If you have a problem with that then you can write me a check for $176.50! And you don't need to tell me that I should leave earlier, I already know that!

BLOGGING ABOUT A MOVIE ABOUT BLOGGING

I don't know what possessed me and my boyfriend to go see that Meryl Streep movie Julie & Julia this past weekend. You know the one about the late, great and freakishly tall chef Julia Child. The movie is also about a New Yorker in more modern times who decides to blog about trying to make every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, in 365 days and blog about it every day. This is the first movie about blogging much like that stupid Meg Ryan movie "You've Got Mail" was one of the first movies about emailing. Or at least one of the first Nora Ephron movies about emailing and blogging. Unfortunately the movie is about as long as Julia Child's 700 page cookbook! But at least it gave me something to blog about!

LOCKED OUT & LATE!!!

I'm a moron. This morning I somehow managed to lock my purse in my apartment with my car keys, apartment keys, wallet and cell phone in it! So there I am with no id, no keys, no money and no way to get to work on a day when it's like 90 million degrees outside! I had to wake up my neighbors, borrow their cell phone, call my landlord, and then wait for their office to open this morning at 9am so they could let me in and find my purse right where I left it- on the dining room table! I realized that all my important #'s are saved in my phone and I can't remember any of them from memory in an emergency! I couldn't even remember the # to the Boneyard! You don't realize how helpless you are without a wallet, a cell phone or any id! Thank god for my neighbors! Shout out to them for the coffee and for coming to my rescue. Thanks also to my landlord who didn't charge me anything to let me back in and especially thanks to my boss who is understanding when Scotty and I do dumb stuff like this! Hi Hurricane Bill:)

PEARL JAM ADDS 2 MORE SPECTRUM SHOWS

Hold that wrecking ball! Pearl Jam has added more shows at the Spectrum in Philly before the legendary venue is destroyed. Pearl Jam is already scheduled to play shows there October 28th & 30th, and now they have added 2 more: Tuesday, October 27th & Saturday, October 31st making it a 4 night stand! BILL CLINTON IS STILL A ROCK STAR!

Bubba has still got it! Former President Bill Clinton made a secret trip this week to North Korea to meet with Kim Jong Il in one of the communist leader's few meetings since it was revealed that he is in declining health. Bill, with a little help from the State Department and the White House, was able to negotiate the release of the 2 jailed American journalists- Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who had been sentenced to 12 years of hard labor for entering the country illegally. Bill flew back home safely with the journalists who have since been reunited with their families after their 4 1/2 month ordeal. Ling and Lee work for Al Gore's Current TV, so there is a Clinton/Gore connection there. I thought it was unusual that a former President would be sent on such a mission instead of the current President, but it did happen once before in 1994 when former President Jimmy Carter was sent during a nuclear standoff with North Korea during the Clinton presidency. When the former President arrived in Pyongyang, he was greeted with smiles and flowers. He's still got it. Seriously the guy is a rock star! Time will tell if President Obama can make the same impact at home and abroad!
