MY PURSE ADDICTION

I think I have an addiction to purses. The first step is always admitting that you have a problem. Is there a 28 day rehab program for purse addiction? Very few things make me as happy as finding a bargain on a purse. I found a bag on NeimanMarcus.com originally way out of my price range that was marked down by over $100. On top of that, I got an additional 25% off this item. But wait-there's more! I also got free shipping! Wow to think some poor sucker actually paid full price for this thing! I mean they were practically giving the bag away! I know I need another purse, (especially a purple one), like I need another credit card, but I swear the thrill of finding a bargain is worth the guilt of second guessing a purchase. Wow that should be on a fortune cookie! Plus there's a very good chance the bag will arrive not as pictured or the color will be hideous, or both, and I'll just slap on the return label and wait for the credit to show up on my bill balance. You can see I've been through this before! And most importantly, I owe it to my co-workers- especially poor Rod Bauman, who was patient enough to help me decide whether or not to order purple or black. I decided the purple looked more expensive. I've attached a photo of both bags. I hope my boyfriend isn't reading this, he's gonna kill me and tell me I don't use all the purses I have now! Hi Honey:)

NON-ALCOHOLIC OPEN BAR?

I've got the scoop on Eddie Van Halen's wedding to his girlfriend and publicist of 3 years, Janie Liszewski. The wedding was Saturday on Eddie's 7-acre estate in Studio City, Ca. His son Wolgang "Wolfie" was the best man, and his bro Alex performed the ceremony. Everybody wore flip flops. The couple walked down the aisle to a string quartet version of "When it's Love." I hope Sammy and Michael Anthony were invited! Eddie's ex and the face of Jenny Craig- Valerie Bertinelli, was one of the invited guests. Cocktail hour included a non-alcoholic bar in celebration of Eddie's year and a 1/2 of sobriety. Among the eats on the menu: mini hamburgers, corn dogs, filet mignon, orange & rosemary glazed grilled chicken, mojito-marinated prawns and grilled vegetables. Cheers to the happy couple who will honeymoon in New York, Germany and the Netherlands.

HOAGIE FEST SCHEDULE

Wawa's Hoagiefest is genius. Brilliant and I have talked about this on the Bone many times. From June 1-July 26th, you can order the featured 6" shortie for just $2.99. Every 2 weeks they feature a different shortie. Brilliant and I must have eaten about 12 italian shorties between us when they kicked off Hoagie fest with the luscious italian shortie. I was bummed I missed the second week of the italian week cuz I was on vacation in Seattle where they don't have WAWA's! To be honest, I'm not really feelin' the cheesesteak selection they have right now. I had one late night last week and it was just okay. It's not in the same league as Geno's or Pat's or Jim's in Philly, but if you're really craving a cheesesteak it will do. To settle a bet with Brilliant today, I just logged on to http://www.hoagiefest.com/to find the list of "Upcoming Hoagiefest Feature Flavor Dates" and guess what's next? The Turkey from 6/29-7/12. Then they finish strong with the Meatball from 7/13-7/26. Just giving you a heads up. Enjoy! You can buy chips and a drink with all that money you're saving$$$! Crash the recessionista. Crashionista if you will!

IS IT ICED COFFEE WEATHER?

It's getting pretty hot out. The other day I randomnly "tweeted" that I thought it might be time to switch to iced coffee. I'm not the only one who had that idea. I was reading Entertainment Weekly last night and in their "Summer Sites" article, I found a website that tells you- based on your zipcode, whether or not it's time for iced coffee. The website is called, "Is it iced coffee weather dot com." Here's the link check it out http://isiticedcoffeeweather.com/ When I typed in our zipcode here outside the still temporary Boneyard cubicle/ soon to be fancy new studio, it said "YES" it's iced coffee time. I knew it!!! Log on and plug in your zipcode. Enjoy!

Eddie Van Halen and his fiancee Janie Liszewski are getting married this Saturday, June 27th and I found their Crate and Barrel registry online! Most of the items on their wish list have been fulfilled, but check out this link to their registry:

JENN'S GOT HERSELF A BRAND NEW BRAD!

It is widely known that I believe everything I read. I figure once it hits the gossip rags, it's all but destined to become a ticker item scrolling across CNN. So here's the latest. I just read that Jennifer Aniston and my celebrity crush Bradley Cooper were spotted leaving a restaurant in NYC and I have the attached pictures to prove it! It just might be a match made in heaven. Both are divorced and single and according to the DETAILS cover article I read about Bradley, he seems ready to settle down and have kids even though the character he plays in The Hangover is most certainly not. Both have comedic chops and are beautiful, famous people trained to handle the press. The timing could finally work here for Jenn who definitely deserves it after Brangelinagate. Stay tuned... And if not, Philly Boy Bradley, you know where to find me!

OMG I CALLED THE 800 # ON THE BOX!

Lately I've been forced to become even more of a recessionista in this economy- clipping coupons and carrying a janitor's keys- sized amount of store saving cards on my keychain. Now my frugality has gone one step further... I actually called the 800 # on the side of my Smart Ones frozen food box to complain about their Macaroni & Cheese quality the other day! I know- I'm a total dork! I realize it's Weight Watchers so it's not supposed to have a pizza sized amount of cheese on it, but this was just a tiny amount of freezer-burned cheese that barely covered the runny egg noodles. After microwaving, the meal got even more slimey, tasteless and inedible if that's a word. So I called the nice lady at Heinz Foods or wherever her headset is plugged into, and told her my story. She was very nice, asked me a couple of routine shopping and demographic questions, and then offered to send me some savings coupons in the mail. Sweet! I guess it's true what they say, the customer is always right, and now I'm back to being a happy, but still frugal customer. BONE APETIT!

CUBICLE LIFE

Crash here! Greetings from the Boneyard cubicle! I know Scotty already beat me to the punch and blogged about the office cubicle we are broadcasting from while the Boneyard is being renovated, but I couldn't resist-plus I added a graphic! I always wanted to be a DJ so I didn't have to work in a cubicle all day, but now here I am DJ'ing from a cubicle! Actually, it's kind of fun working without walls and being so close to Brilliant. Now I can terrorize him after I get off the air since the Boneyard is located right next to my office cubicle. Thanks for listening to the Bone and for reading my blog!

BIRTHPLACE OF GRUNGE HERE WE COME!

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, what's not to love? Seattle. The birthplace of grunge and flannel and Starbucks. The backdrop for Cameron Crowe's flick Singles. My boyfriend and I are finally taking a week's vacation next week to Seattle with stops in Portland and Vancouver. I can't wait. I won't be blogging for a few days since I will be asked to refrain from the use of portable electronic devices during landing and take-off! Scotty will be awfully lonely in the Boneyard working long days while I'm away so be sure to call him on the Bone Phone and say thanks from me:)

CURE FOR WRITER'S BLOG BLOCK? GREEN DAY!

On lazy rainy days when I don't feel like writing a complex blog about say, the rise and fall of General Motors, then that's when I write about Green Day! On YouTube, I just watched them perform "Know your Enemy"on the Tonight Show- now hosted by the freakishly tall Conan O'Brien. He really seemed huge shaking their hands on stage! Seriously though, they kicked ass. Billy Joe jumped into the crowd and played his guitar. He later gave Conan his very own guitar. The band even got a little face time on the couch with Tom Hanks-nice! If you missed it, next Green Day will be taking over Later with Carson Daly next Tuesday thru Friday. Carson is the only late night personality who is completely devoid of any personality. But he does have good taste in music, especially since he used to work at KROQ in LA, and who could forget his tenure during the heyday of TRL? Green Day is expected to debut a couple of new songs from 21st Century Breakdown. They debuted "Jesus of Suburbia" on Carson's show back in '05. I didn't even know his show has been on that long!! Later with Gina Crash....has a nice ring to it. Watch out Carson!

HO-MADE CARD FOR BRILLIANT

Yesterday was Scotty Brilliant's birthday and I realized this morning that I had forgotten to buy him a birthday card. With no time to head to a greeting card store, I had to think fast before he came in at 2pm..."Google it," I thought to myself. Brilliant idea, no pun intended. I searched "How to make a greeting card" and found some website where you can make cards for kids. The graphics were kind of limited- which explains why my ho-made card has a beaver on it, but I think it turned out pretty well. Check out the photo I took from my cell phone in Brilliant's cubicle. Call me a recessionista! And Happy belated Birthday to my pal Scotty!
